2020 Art Annual - Cancelled due to COVID

2020 Brookside Art Annual canceledThe Brookside Business Association and the Brookside Community Improvement District cancelled of the 35th Brookside Art Annual, originally scheduled for May 1st through 3rd and then rescheduled for September 18th through 20th. “It is with great sadness that we share the difficult decision made to cancel the 2020 Brookside Art Annual. This decision was made after weeks of careful deliberation about the challenging and evolving impacts of COVID-19 and consultation with artists and local health officials. As an event that relies on the regional and national travel of artists and hosts many at-risk demographics, we are confident this is the best decision to ensure the safety of artists and our community during this time,” said Kim Harris, President of the Brookside CID. “We look forward to returning stronger next year. We know how much everyone will miss the show and can’t wait to celebrate in 2021.”

The 2020 Brookside Shred Event was a success!

Despite the heat and humidity, the annual FREE document shredding event in Brookside was a great success Saturday July 11th. Residents were lined up and waiting in the south parking lot (beside the tennis courts) as early as 7am, eager to take advantage of this community service event. The event was converted to a no-contact service this year, allowing cars drive through rather than participants parking and getting out. Masked volunteers took documents from trunks and back seats, offered a free Forever Brookside sticker, and had people back on the road in no time. Thanks to the volunteers and sponsors who made the event possible again this year!
