The John Wornall House Museum will be closed temporarily to the public starting on Monday, June 24, 2013

The John Wornall House Museum will be closed temporarily to the public starting on Monday, June 24, 2013 for a major capital project to make repairs to the foundation, facade, and interior of the house, which has sustained damage due to the two-year drought. The construction to the exterior of the house is slated to begin in early July. The house will be closed to the public from June 24 through at least the end of September 2013,

The Brookside Art Annual will be closed on Friday, May 3rd but will be OPEN Saturday, May 4th from 10am - 9pm and Sunday May 5th from 11am - 5pm. Please come join us for this amazing event! Throw on a jacket and visit beautiful Brookside and take advantage unique art from one-of-a-kind artists from all over the globe.

BROOKSIDE PLAZA DEDICATED AS “LEON GOODHART WAY”

Long-time Brookside business and property owner Leon Goodhart was honored March 22 at a brief ceremony where Brookside Plaza was be renamed “Leon Goodhart Way.” Goodhart had been a Brookside businessman since 1949, when he came to the United States from Poland to work for his great uncle, Jacob Hyman, at the Country Club Shoe Store. Goodhart went on to take over the business, and operated it until his retirement in the late 1990s. In addition, Goodhart owned and managed much of the property along Brookside Plaza, including the Brookside Plaza office building. He was a past president of the Brookside Business Association and a board member of the Brookside Community Improvement District. Goodhart passed away in June 2012.
