The 2022 Brookside Art Annual is April 29th through May 1st!

2022-Brookside-Art-Annual-April-29th-to-May-1stKansas City’s first outdoor art show of the year (and our favorite) is just around the corner. Make plans now to join friends, family and neighbors at the 36th Brookside Art Annual Friday, April 29th through Sunday, May 1st. Show hours are: Friday 5pm-9pm; Saturday 10am-9pm; and Sunday 11am-5pm.

Established in 1985 as a neighborhood festival, the Brookside Art Annual has grown into a great regional event and was recently rated one of the Top 25 Art Shows in the nation by Art Source. Over 180 of the top artists from around the country will be showing their artwork right in the heart of Brookside. The show draws thousands of people from all over the metropolitan area to the historic Brookside Shops for the three-day event.

The show offers great art in a variety of categories from jewelry to sculpture. Whether you’re an art enthusiast, collector, or just love company while you see great artwork, the Brookside Art Annual won’t disappoint. The show brings together outstanding artists with artwork available for any budget every year.

Need to refuel while you’re at the show? Enjoy the culinary arts from local Brookside restaurants offering an array of food and drinks for you to enjoy the show. Brookside’s own Charlie Hooper’s, Cosentino’s Brookside Market/Price Chopper, and Topsy’s will be among those offering a variety of meals and snacks. Thirsty? Enjoy a selection of fine wines, craft beers, cocktails, sodas, and more.

Don’t forget the little ones? The show features children's activities starting Friday night with face painting and balloon art for a nominal fee (all weekend long), and continues Saturday from 11 am to 4 pm and Sunday from 11 am to 3 pm with free arts and crafts from Research Medical Center, Brookside Campus, Consentino’s Price Chopper, APLOMB Martial Arts, and others.

Another great way to enjoy the show is to volunteer. Volunteers help direct guests at the information booth, deliver meals to artists, sell show merchandise, and booth sit so artists can have a well-deserved break during the show. If you’re interested in volunteering, email staff@brooksidekc.org or call (816)-523-5553.
