31st Brookside Art Annual is Right Around the Corner

2016 Art AnnualThe city’s first large art event of the season kicks off later this month when the Brookside Art Annual celebrates its 31st year on April 29th, 30th and May 1st. Established in 1985 as a neighborhood festival, the Brookside Art Annual has grown into a regional event, having recently been rated one of the Top 20 Art Shows in the nation by Art Source. A total of 185 of the top artists from around the country will be showing their artwork right in the heart of Brookside. The show draws upwards of 70,000 people from all over the metropolitan area to the Brookside shopping district for the three-day event.

The 35th Annual Brookside St. Patrick’s Day Warm-up Parade - March 14th

2015 Brookside St Patrick's Warm-up Parade It's the wearing of the green in Brookside for the 35th Annual St. Patrick's Day Warm-up Parade, Saturday, March 14th at 2PM, in the Brookside Shopping District.

More than 100 organizations representing groups and families of all ages participate in this fun, family-oriented event. Parade entries march or ride in a variety of vehicles from red wagons to floats to classic cars. Entries include bands, drill teams, Irish dancers, the Jackson County Sheriff Mounted Patrol, and dogs of all shapes and sizes including Basset Hounds, Great Danes and of course, Irish Setters.

Baskin Robbins Ice CreamProprietor of Baskin Robbins Ice Cream & Topsy’s Popcorn, Bob Ramm purchased the building at 101 W. 63rd St., home to Brookside Party Warehouse earlier this year. In July, construction began and the transformation is nearing completion with Baskin Robbin’s/Topsy’s in the same building with Brookside Party Warehouse– what a great combination for all your party needs!
