Annual DeLaSalle Pumpkin Patch at Brookside Park - October 5th

The Annual DeLaSalle Pumpkin Patch draws hundreds of families for a morning of free, family fun on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event provides pumpkins in the urban core as well as ponies, bounce houses, and children’s music. A variety of food vendors will be on hand serving delicious food including Brooksider, STANDEES and Smallcakes. The Roasterie is offering a Pumpkin Patch Blend Coffee available year round with 10% of the proceeds benefiting DeLaSalle. 41 Action News reporter Demetria Obilor will serve as emcee for the event.

BROOKSIDE WINE WALK - Thursday, October 3, 6pm-Midnight

Bring your friends to Brookside’s first-ever wine walk on Thursday, October 3. Sip, stroll and shop your way through some of our finest establishments. Ticket holders will enjoy $3 white and red wine specials and food specials at all of the participating restaurants. The John Wornall House Museum will be closed temporarily to the public starting on Monday, June 24, 2013

The John Wornall House Museum will be closed temporarily to the public starting on Monday, June 24, 2013 for a major capital project to make repairs to the foundation, facade, and interior of the house, which has sustained damage due to the two-year drought. The construction to the exterior of the house is slated to begin in early July. The house will be closed to the public from June 24 through at least the end of September 2013,

Brookside Christmas in the Park- December 6, 2012 6pm

The Brookside Business Association and nearly 70 Brookside businesses prepare for the busy holiday season and look to welcome visitors from throughout the region. The holiday season officially begins Thursday, December 6 at 6:00 p.m. when Brookside holds the “Christmas in the Park.”

This year’s event includes the Dickens Carolers, Holiday Trombones, and St. Elizabeth’s Children’s Choir. Loren Halifax from Channel 4 will emcee the event and conduct the drawings for wonderful gift certificates from area merchants, as well as $100 Brookside gift card. Visitors from Wornall House will be present in their period clothing along with Santa Claus, thanks to The New Dime Store. Enjoy special treats and refreshments from Cosentino’s Price Chopper, The Roasterie, and Michael Forbes. Some merchants will be open later that evening and offering discounts valid only the night of the event.

Father Christmas will be at the Alexander Majors House, 12/15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Don't miss having your picture taken with Father Christmas at the Alexander Majors House on Saturday, December 15th from 10am-4pm. The cost is $8 per child, which includes the photo. This event is free for adults and children 2 and under.

Each child will have the opportunity to participate in traditional Christmas activities, listen to stories, hear music, and meet Father Christmas. Your child is welcome to sit on his knee and have a photo taken! Advance reservations are not necessary. You may pay at the door

Candlelight Tours: The John Wornall House 12/7 and 12/8 6:30-9:00pm

Candlelight Tours will be given at the John Wornall House on Friday, December 7th and Saturday, December 8th from 6:30 to 9:00pm. The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for seniors and children ages 6-12.
